House Air Way Bill / HAWB

HAWB as an abbreviation for House Air Way Bill refers to the house air way bill. In the case of groupage transports that are transported by plane, it is created for each individual shipment. The respective groupage freight forwarder is responsible for this.
The house air waybill serves as proof of the conclusion of the air freight contract and the right of disposal in relation to the respective individual shipment, basis of calculation for freight cost calculation, insurance certificate, document for the customs declaration and delivery confirmation at the destination airport. It is also an important document when it comes to clarifying legal disputes and liability for individual shipments.
In addition to the HAWB, a MAWB – Master Air Way Bill – is issued for all shipments combined in a consolidated shipment.
